- All clients should wash their hands before coming and immediately after arriving home.
- We will allow up to 10 people in a group. One human may attend per dog enrolled in each class.
- All gates and chairs will be wiped by the instructors with a Clorox solution before/after every class.
- The porta-potty will be wiped with a Clorox solution several times a day.
- Our instructors will demonstrate with their own dogs if needed.
- All handlers will be encouraged to handle only their own dogs and MUST stay a reasonable distance (10 feet or more) from other people and dogs.
- Agility instructors will handle all the equipment, including all jump height changes and will open/close the gate between dogs. If Agility students wish to help, they must SANITIZE BEFORE and AFTER.
- All handlers will be asked to bring their own water and bowls.
- We will have hand sanitizer available for use in all of the training areas. Please use whenever you have accidentally touched something that is not your own. However, with supplies limited, please plan to bring your own Hand Sanitizer .
UPDATE: As of 5/16 all the policies below will be continued except:
1. We will allow up to 10 people in a group. One human may attend per dog enrolled in each class.
2. The agility practice field will be open for use by those purchasing a pass.
3. Agility students may all walk as long as they maintain social distancing (10 feet minimum). Any who wish to help move equipment must sanitize BEFORE and AFTER touching anything (gate, jump bars, etc.).
Updates as of 4/4/20
1. The PBH practice field is closed unless under Instructor supervision so that no equipment is shared.
2. We have dropped our class size to 4 handlers and increased the time between classes to allow one group to disperse before the next group starts.
3. Only 2 Agility / Rally handlers can be on course to walk it at the same time, but must start at separate parts of the course and may not come closer than 25 feet. They will switch sides when ready and when done the next student can enter to walk.
4. Trash cans are marked no touching. Just tie and drop the bag nearby.
4. The porta-potty can be opened without touching and has hand sanitizer and wipes and signs reminding handlers to clean up after.
5. Handlers in agility classes are asked to bring their own tie-outs or crates for class and a chair if they want to sit.
March 2020
We are aware of the growing concerns related to the spread of the COVID- 19 virus in our area. Fortunately, since our facility is outdoors and we are strictly enforcing social distancing of 10 feet or more, it is a low-risk environment and PERMITTED under the stay at home orders for our location as long as we have no more than 5 people gathering at a time and no shared equipment. Therefore, at this time, we are planning to continue to offer our classes and private lessons with the following precautions in place:
- Please do not come to PBH if you are sick or have been in contact with anyone who is feeling sick. PBH staff will also follow this guideline.
- All clients should wash their hands before coming and immediately after arriving home.
- The plastic will be removed from the arena to provide a completely open-air space for classes.
- All gates and chairs will be wiped by the instructors with a Clorox solution before/after every class.
- The porta-potty will be wiped with a Clorox solution several times a day.
- Our instructors will demonstrate with their own dogs if needed.
- All handlers will be encouraged to handle only their own dogs and stay a reasonable distance (10 feet or more) from other people and dogs.
- Agility instructors will handle all the equipment, including all jump height changes and will open/close the gate between dogs.
- All handlers will be asked to bring their own water and bowls.
- We will have hand sanitizer available for use in all of the training areas. However, with supplies limited, please plan to bring your own Hand Sanitizer .
We are very aware that some people share their lives with at-risk individuals and may need to take extra precautions. Please feel free to contact us directly regarding your concerns and we will work with you to find a solution.
If there are any updates or changes, we will communicate them through email to those enrolled.
CLASSES
1. All classes will be taught by a certified PBH instructor.
2. Normal class size will be limited to 6-8 dog/handler teams.
3. Entrance requirements for each class will be enforced based on the judgment of the instructor.
4. A full credit/transfer/refund will be given if Pet Behavior Help, Inc. cancels class. If a client cancels class before attending, the client will be refunded the tuition fee minus a $25 processing fee. Refunds for cancellations after classes begin will be prorated and subject to the $25 processing fee.
5. All classes may be cancelled during severe weather conditions and outdoor classes will be cancelled in extreme heat, cold or wet conditions. Notification of class cancellation will be posted on the Calendar and on the PBH Facebook page. Students are responsible for checking the Calendar before attending class. We try to hold make-up classes the week following the scheduled end of the session at our normal class times. However, when that is not possible, we will offer several options to students and hold the make-up when the majority can attend. Make-up classes are not guaranteed.
6. See Obedience and Agility Information for detailed class information.
